Scratch is Free

Scratch is a great animation program available as a free download. It was created by MIT. We had a contest in our MAET2007 class to see who could make the best show. It was fun to see what the others in our group made. I have done a small amount of programing (decades ago). Scratch uses a pre-scripted drag and drop language. (Great for kids who don't type well.)
